1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Map Embeds, including the map generator and the HTML snippets it creates. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service or publish code generated by it.

You must be legally able to enter into these terms and are responsible for anyone who uses the service through your systems or on your behalf.

2. What the service provides

Map Embeds creates HTML snippets that display third-party map content in an iframe. You are responsible for reviewing the generated code, testing it on your website, keeping your website secure, and confirming that your use complies with applicable laws, platform rules, and contracts.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We do not guarantee that a map, route, place result, Street View image, or third-party service will remain available or accurate.

3. Generated code

The HTML produced by Map Embeds includes an outbound attribution or partner link selected by Map Embeds. The link is visually hidden with CSS in the generated snippet, so it may not be apparent in the rendered map. When you paste the full snippet into your website, that outbound link becomes part of your page.

By copying or publishing the generated snippet, you authorize the inclusion of that link on the page where the snippet is installed. You are responsible for determining whether the link and the way it is presented comply with your website policies, agreements with hosting or advertising providers, search-engine guidelines, disclosure requirements, and applicable law.

If you do not want an outbound link included on your page, do not publish the generated snippet. Map Embeds may change the destination or anchor text selected for future snippets.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the service to:

  • break the law, infringe another person’s rights, or facilitate harmful or fraudulent activity;
  • misrepresent a location, organization, route, affiliation, or endorsement;
  • interfere with, overload, scrape, reverse engineer, or attempt unauthorized access to the service;
  • distribute malicious code or use generated code in a way that compromises another website or user; or
  • circumvent technical limits or third-party terms that apply to map content.

5. Third-party services

The service relies on third parties, including Google Maps, analytics providers, hosting providers, and sites that may be linked from generated snippets. Their products and content are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Map Embeds does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, content, availability, accuracy, or data practices.

Map Embeds is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. Google Maps and related marks belong to their respective owners.

6. Ownership

Map Embeds and its original site design, software, text, and branding are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer ownership of Map Embeds or any third-party content to you. Your right to use third-party map content is governed by the applicable third party.

7. Disclaimers

The service and generated code are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Map Embeds disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, reliability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Map Embeds and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost revenue, profits, goodwill, data, or business opportunities, arising from the service, generated code, embedded maps, outbound links, or third-party services.

Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability arising from the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to use the service during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or US $50.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service changes. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to do so later.
